About us
Shawnee Miller, CPA, started working at the accounting firm of Dora Jean Dyson, CPA, in the spring of 2010 while taking college accounting courses and obtaining her CPA license. After twelve years she purchased the majority of the client list and started her own firm at the same location.
Our Mission:
Our primary reason for existence is to serve in a faith-based firm helping clients to maximize their potential while obeying the requirements of the law.

Shawnee Miller, CPA
Shawnee Miller, CPA is the owner. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M – Central Texas with a BBA in accounting and has worked in the accounting profession since 2010. She is a native of Gatesville and graduated with honors from Gatesville High School. She is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, Central Texas TXCPA, AICPA, secretary of the Gatesville Lions Club, and a member of The National Honors Society of Leadership and Success. She is excited to continue to take part in the future growth of Gatesville, Central Texas, and the accounting profession.
Jesus Angulo
Jesus Angulo is the accounting assistant and graduated from McLennan Community College with his associates in accounting in 2020 and his BBA in accounting in 2022 from Tarleton State University. Jesus is an honor graduate of Gatesville High School. He participated in the UIL Accounting Team, and was in band and played soccer while attending Gatesville High School, and has lived in the Gatesville area since 2004. He is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs and TXCPA Central Texas. He looks forward to obtaining his CPA license.
Jim Derr
Jim Derr is a graduate of Temple Community College with an associate degree in accounting and a bookkeeping certification. Jim is now attending Tarleton State University in pursuit of his BBA in accounting and plans to sit for the CPA exams shortly after. Growing up in Waco he won a bronze medal in the 1998 and 1999 Academic Decathlon for University High School, went to state in the University High School Marching Band, and played on the Brazos Valley baseball team. He is now living in Lorena with his wife of over 20 years and 3 children and enjoys playing board games and raising pugs.
Dora Dyson, CPA
Dora Dyson, CPA assists the firm as needed on special projects and consulting. Dora Jean Dyson is the owner of Dora Jean Dyson, CPA, PLLC. She graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University with a BBA in Accounting, the highest ranking student in the school of business. She also graduated from Famous Artist School. She enjoys serving as an active member of several professional organizations and has enjoyed serving on the Advisory Council of the American Institute of CPA’s, the Board of Directors of Texas Society CPA’s and Central Texas Chapter of CPA’s. She is involved in many civic organizations.
